If your account has been verified you can add funds to your paypal account by doing this info from paypal:

You don't need to have money in your PayPal account balance to make a payment. We can simply take the money from a bank account or card that's linked to your PayPal account. However, if you've linked your bank account to your PayPal account, you can move money from your bank account to your PayPal account for free. Here’s how:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click Add Funds near the top of the page.
3. Choose to move money to your PayPal account yourself (almost instantly), or let us do it for you (in 5-7 working days).

If you want to move money yourself:

• Under 'You move money from your bank account', click Continue
• Make a note of the payment details (in red) and log in to your online banking (or visit your bank in person) to make a payment to your PayPal account
• Your money will arrive in your PayPal account within a few minutes. We'll email you when it arrives.

OR If you want to withdraw funds from your paypal account to your linked bank account do this:

To withdraw money to a UK bank account:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click Withdraw near the top of the page.
3. Enter the amount to withdraw and choose the correct bank account, then click Continue.
4. Review the details then click Submit.

Your money will usually take up to 2 hours to appear in your UK bank account.

Please make sure your bank account information is correct before attempting to withdraw funds from your PayPal account. For example, if your name is James Patrick Smith, but your bank account is in the name of “J P Smith,” you would need to enter “J P” as your first name when adding the bank account.

If your bank information is incorrect, your withdrawal will be returned and a 50p fee will be charged. Additional bank fees may also apply but you’ll need to contact your bank for details of those.

ok,       so i dont need to add funds to my paypal account , it is linked!

You never have to have any money in your paypal account to make a payment, as long as have linked a back up source and you're verified.

Paypal will take the payment straight from the back up funds you have

Or if you have money in your paypal account but not enough to make the full payment, they will take the remainder from your back up funds

Hi, I am looking for my 15 diget reference number

Still can't find this reference number to add money to my paypal account. I have a linked bank account. Have no money in ,my paypal account and wish to refund someone. Paypal says that this is not possible without funds which is weird. So need the reference number to add funds form my bank account to paypal...... can anyone tell me where to find the mystery ID number? Please note that's all I want, no other explanations please.

If you want us to move your money from your bank, you must first confirm your bank account. If so, here's how:

• Under 'PayPal moves money from your bank', click Continue
• Select the bank account you want to use, enter the desired amount and click Continue
• Review the details and click Submit. (Click View the details of this transaction to see the expected date for the money to arrive)
• Your money will arrive in your PayPal account within 5-7 working days. You can check the status at any time by going to Activity and checking the transaction status

I worked it out in the end.

The reference number that appeears on the screen to use for the transaction looks like an example but it is in fact the unique reference number for me to use.

That is what wasn't clear.

Could be better to make that clearer.
