problem with adding a new card to my paypal account

Hello I am from Romania and i have an Paypal account since 2008.These day i went to my bank and i received a different type of card  - a Mastercard debit card instead the old Visa Electron  credit card type.Back home i tried to add this new card to my account and i received a message :Sorry, we can’t add this card. Please try adding a different card to your account. I'll be deeply greatfull  answer me why isn't accepted the new card
