I received a payment for an item I sold on eBay. Logged into my paypal account to transfer the money into my bank account, for some unknown reason it said it had gone into an account that I haven't used for over 6yrs Nd didn't even know it was still registered on PayPal. Got in touch with the bank and received a new cash card, however, on checking my bank account the money is not in there, its also not in my usual bank account and its not in my PayPal account either. I have a transaction ID, but cannot get in touch with PayPal as their offices are closed. I am not happy, this has never, ever happened before so I really don't know what's happened.

Are you sure that the email address on the listing page of the item  you sold hasn't got your old email address on it?

im not sure if im in the right section but i really need to know if anyone knows how to cancel a withdraw from my paypal account to my bank account, it is still pending but i would like to cancel the witthdraw asap but unable to find this section in the help area

Hi sweety22

In regards cancelling a withdrawal, this generally isn't possible. If you start a withdrawal by accident you might be able to cancel it if you call customer services immediately but after about an hour it has already been flagged by the automatic system and cannot be stopped.

But have you double checked you never know there may have been an error?

It's not the email address, it has gone into the wrong bank account, but its not actually in the bank account it says its gone into. It says the transaction it complete, so I'm mot sure what they've done or where its gone.

I don't know if this will help but  I saw it in the help pages

What most banks will do is send the money back after a certain amount of time,  some can take up to 30 days.  If in 30 days you still don't have your money back in your PayPal account then please contact us directly so that we may put a trace on your funds. 

I suggest you call them ASAP though as its not even in the one they said it is , saying that though some payments can take up  between 3-30 days  to process depending if you were paid by card or echeque

Try this 

 Try to access your old email account and then add that email address back into your paypal account as a secondary address. then the funds should show up in my paypal.

If not if you contact PayPal they might be able to help you

If you no longer have access to the email address that was on your listing your buyer will need to cancel the payment. If your buyer does not wish to cancel the transaction the payment will remain on hold for 30 days before automatically cancelling.

However if you are unable to reset your email address the only way around it is for your buyer to cancel the payment and resend to the correct address. You could also send them a money request with the eBay auction ID number in it.
