TELL THE TRUTH PAYPAL ABOUT OUR WITHDRAWALS

Paypal what a load of bull it is happening to all accounts and just about every transaction it is not random. You should tell the truth. It is wrong that you keep this money it is our money. You are using the wording SECURITY CHECK as a loophle so that you can hang on to the money for as long as possible to get more interest. The fact is you are not doing any security checks .I will be making a formal complaint to the CSSF about this  as the new ruling is that monies should be paid straight away into current accounts and this took affect on th 1/1/12

Technically, all accounts are covered by Faster Payments and the new EU directive.

Accounts where the cash should be instantly available include:

  • Current accounts
  • Standard savings accounts
  • Credit card accounts (where payment is made to clear or reduce a balance)
  • Payments to HMRC for tax

It is time to tell your customers the truth it is a loophole you are using to hold on to our money

I made my sixth call this morning to Paypal and was told to cancel my "pending" payment to re do the withdrawal and this would allow it to go through - so the lady did the cancellation this took 30 seconds for the "pending" money to appear back in my paypal account surprise surprise! - I then tried to withdraw the money again to be emailed "72 hour" waiting period again ! Paypal are a sham and a con - I asked the women if she would accept working all month for no wage - they are a disgrace even there own staff agree with this!

Paypal you are a disgrace ! I have asked all my buyers if I refund them will they transfer into my account quite frankly I would rather take my chances on peoples honesty than deal with this dreadful company that are clearly lying and stealing interest that should be in OUR accounts...shame on you Paypal.

They gave me that rubbish too... it just delayed it for a further 72hrs.

Hopeless.

I thought I'd join this forum in the hope of finding out why my withdrawals are still subject to a 21-24 hour 'security review' but all I've found is a lot of people in a similar position - and no word from Paypal about this.

I know that Paypal's implementation of Faster Payments has been complex since they're the first non-bank to do it, and I totally understand there may be technical problems (mind you Paypal have had nine months extra time to make this work) - and I could forgive this if Paypal would issue some sort of credible statement about it.  Quite obviously, there is no 'security' problem about me withdrawing money from a long-standing business Paypal account to a long-verified business bank account with a matching name, just as I have been for years using the old withdrawal system.  Therefore, something else is wrong and I'd like to be reassured that Paypal are working on it, intend to fix it, and have a timeframe for doing so.

Under the old system I could pay my £5 fee at 11:00 in the morning and have the money hit my account by 2:30 in the afternoon.  Now, every withdrawal (six so far) has been delayed by a day in the name of 'Faster Payments'.

Please can we have an official statement from Paypal about this.

Just  like everyone else...went to withdrawal some funds and got hit with 'security review', and a link to my 'User Agreement. Anyhow, in 'User Agreement', section 4.3 did talk about 'Payment Review' but where does it state info about 'security review'...and more to the point....what IS a security review. If anyone can shed any light on this it'd be appreciated.

On another note, it is kinda obvious Paypal's FPS system is somehow messed up. Be honest about it Paypal and get some respect, or keep hiding, wait for the story to go overground and let the carnage begin. Watchdog, BBC Breakfast, Martin Lewis, Rip Off Britain....the spotlight maybe coming....beware eh!!!

What's emerging from comments made elsewhere is that Paypal clearly has a technical problem getting Faster Payments working.  It's a pity they can't tell us about this openly and I suspect that treating the delay as a 'security review' is a deliberate fudge to allow them to keep within the terms of the user agreement.

What must be making things worse for them is the sheer volume; like many users, the prospect of delays is making us choose to get the money moving as soon as possible and so we've actioned 8 or 10 withdrawals in the past day or so where previously we would have done one or two - basically every time we've had a few sales we're withdrawing the funds.  Somebody on another forum posted that a Paypal cs had told him they're processing the withdrawals by hand - hard to believe but if manual intervention is required it must be chaos up at Paypal Towers.  (When was it ever otherwise?)

Just spoke with Paypal on phone (security line), and was advised there are issues. Apparently the changeover to FPS is causing all these 'security reviews' to keep flagging up. He reckons this will be ongoing but will set itself straight by the end of the month. Also advised at present not to think in terms of 2hr withdrawals but more like 24hr withdrawals. Guy I spoke to was calm, knowlegable and professional.

Note to Paypal: A brief notification on your homepage or when we log into our accounts would of been nice. Something like

"At present we are migrating to the FPS payment system, as part of this migration withdrawals may take up to 24hrs to process".

Now...how hard would that be??? It's peoples money your playing with, if your straight and give us the information THEN we can plan around it...simple!!!

I've made 6 withdrawls recently. All but one went through fine, I'm currently waiting for one to clear.
I noticed the smaller example £10 withdrawl was instant, but the slightly larger £60 was the one security check flagged. I'm wondering all those with issues are they larger amounts? Say over £50? I'm just cuirous if it's a amount limit that flags
