Hi how do I remove a bank account or a bank card from my account

From the FAQs:

To change the details of any bank account already added to your PayPal account, first remove the account and then add it again with the new details. If the bank account you’re removing is the primary bank account, select a different bank as the primary bank first.
To add a Bank Account:

1. Login to your PayPal account.
2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
3. Click My money.
4. In the 'Bank accounts' section click Update or Link bank.
5. Click Add.
6. Enter the requested information and then click Add Bank Account.
7. A bank account can be registered to only one PayPal account at a time.
8. You can add up to eight bank accounts to a verified PayPal account.

To remove a Bank Account:

1. Logiin to your PayPal account.
2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
3. Click My money.
4. In the 'Bank accounts' section click Update.
5. Click Remove next to the bank you want to remove.
6. Review your account information, and then click Remove.

Note: If the account you want to remove is your primary bank account, select a new primary bank account.
To select the Primary Bank Account:

1. Login to your PayPal account.
2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
3. Click My money.
4. In the 'Bank accounts' section click Update.
5. Click Make Primary next to the bank account you want as your primary bank account.

Note: If the bank is being used as the funding source for a PayPal payment that is currently in process, then you won’t be able to remove it until the payment completes.

I want to close my pay pal account and the instructions state I should remove my bank account and card details before closing the account. The only instructions I have seen for removing the bank account are when you are replacing it with another. Is there anyway to just remove the account? thanks
