Manage currencies - Error updating primary currency / Balance shows as $ not £

Although I'm a UK user, when I log in I see this:

PayPal balance

$0.00 USD Available
•Add money
•Withdraw money

Which is US not UK currency.  When I initially went to the 'Manage Currencies' screen it had UK as the Primary and US $ as another.  I received an error when removing the US entry, and again if I click to confirm UK as the Primary which is as follows:

I currently awaiting a payment to come through from TopCashBack and that has stalled, which lead me to check if there is an issue in my PP account somewhere it is coming up against.

Are these known errors or something else?

Hi Amenthea,

Thanks for posting on the Community Forum and sorry to hear about the issues you're having with this.

It sounds like you might need to add GBP as a new currency.

Here's how to open a new currency balance:

1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
2. Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
3. Click 'My money.'
4. Click 'Currencies' beside 'PayPal balance.'
5. Select the currency you want to add.
6. Click 'Add Currency.' 

Once you have done this, you can make GBP your primary balance currency:

1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click 'My money.'
4. Click 'Currencies' beside 'PayPal balance..'
5. Select the currency you want for your primary balance.
6. Click ‘Make Primary.’
