Hi HELPME-

Welcome to the Community Help Forum.

PayPal may offer an initial sending limit on an account, but ultimately requires additional proof of identity.  While we don't know everything about you that a bank would ask, we use a process called random deposit to confirm that you have access to the records for the bank that you add.

By demonstrating that you have access to the deposit information, we know you're the account holder and that info you've provided to the bank was sufficient enough for them to confirm you identity and issue you an account.  If you prefer to pay by credit card after your bank account is added, you can still select it from your payment confirmation screen prior to sending money.

Thanks for visiting the forum!
