hello,i know a little about this and it may not help you but at least will explain some things.visa is a turn key name that implies a credit card.in fact lots of merchant cards are just backed up by visa carry visa logo ect.it may be possible that your friend has a slightly diferent acount than yours even if it seemed the same name.i dont know.also if indeed a prepaid merchant card that you can u[pload money to and use as legitamit money transaction than it should be valid for paypal,if you can only use a prpaid 1 time amount on card then throw it away then ,no it is not a legitamit form of id,a green dot pre-paid credit card for instance is a legitamit prepaid card reconized by visa and mAstercard and paypal for verification of legitamacy bank acount ect,todays merchant cards may be a 200 $ for instance spend all you like but never be a form of id,a real credit card can have a balence of 1$ or thousands,so im guessing most these problems if not you specifically deal with witch visa you have,most safeways ect supermarket have 20-50 diferent merchant cards you can buy,meanwhile go online or call your credit card and ask them if you have a bank acount with them ,this is what we are taliking about is your bank,all credit cards are backed by a bank and your personal record to that specific credit card is on file,if you have not done that or does not seem familiar then you do not have a credit card,you have a merchant card,good luck,peace
