Aloha,
It actually converts $29.49 USD to 20.2258 EUR today 😉 but, I found this post from Contributor Amanda, which
explains why you are being charged a little more than the exchange rate. Here's what she stated:
Amanda
PayPal is not a currency dealer and therefore must purchase foreign currencies from its bank. Like many other financial service companies, PayPal adds a 2.5% spread above the bank's wholesale rate. PayPal's rate is competitive with most multi-currency credit card transactions.
Because PayPal does not charge a high fixed fee for sending international payments, the total cost of sending an international payment through PayPal is still lower than many international multi-currency bank transfers.
For more detailed information on the exchange rate, see the User Agreement.
😞 Not the best news for watching every EUR, but it does explain why you are converting to one amount
and being charged a different amount. I hope this helps you. Aloha.
