FRAUD OR NOT?

hi!

im from Philippines and this is my first time using paypal. I just dont know what to do when that email add (service @ intl.paypal. com) appears on my SPAM. i dont know if that was from your team or just a scam. I have a buyer from south africa, he teaches me how to use paypal.at first, i am trusting him since he was kind enough to teach me. but sooner, when my parcel arrived on south africa, service @ intl.paypal. com emails me and requiring me to pay CUSTOM BILL of php6,000 and a compensation fee of php 1,000. For that issue, i paid it for the reason i will be having my money back after the transaction. after a few more days, service @ intl.paypal. com emailed me again to pay for IMPORTATION and VAT which worths php12,000, a compensation fee of php1,500, and another php 1,500 for the western union. They asked me to pay the sum via WESTERN UNION on the same name which i paid the first payment (custom bill) named PHELETSO SADNACIOUS KHAIYANE. i was cofused when this second payment is on a different address but on the same name of a person. CUSTOM also called me to pay those for about 24-48 hrs only. I need your help. Im in doubt. IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?

Welcome to the Community Forum! I'm only sorry it's not under better circumstances.

The first thing I suggest you do here is contact the shipping company you used to see if they can intercept the parcel before it reaches it's final destination.

If it is already to late for that, it's best to inform your local police officer as soon as possible, or if you're based in the UK, a govermental body known as Action Fraud. 

The police or Action Fraud will then work towards retrieving your package by investigating this further for you.

I feel terrible not seeing this post soon enough. I too got victimized by Stephen Adeoye of 329 Petunia , Jorissen Street , Pretoria , Sunnyside , South Africa 0002 . Being a first time seller, I was not sure of how Paypal pays you after a sale is done. I started receiving purported emails from Paypal stating payment was already made to my account and is pending as I first need to provide a tracking number for it to be credited. To make a long story short, due to my eagerness of making a sale, I shipped out the item . Fortunately, after 4 hours , out of curiosity I Googled the shipping address and was directed to this forum. I immediately called the shipping courier to cancel the shipment and have the item shipped back to me. Sadly I could not refund the shipping fees I paid. 😞

I would like to call each and everyone's attention regarding this forum, that we! together should file a complaint upon this situation. I will need people who are willing to testify together with against this crime! in order for federal bureau of investigation to consider our complaint.
