Just been having emails from a Mary Watson who is allegedly wheel chair bound and deaf. She offered to buy tyres for her cousin messaged me and asked for PayPal account. Her address for Email is watmary06 She asked me to confirm price for tyres So I sent message £350 she said payment has been made into PayPal of £690. Saying the courier company needed payment but as she can't get out she has included payment of the courier fee so I could pay £340 cash into a go money account. The deal is now up in the air as pay pal won't credit my account until go money are paid their £340cash. What have people done in this instance This seams highly like a con to me and I'm not going any further.

THIS IS A TYPICAL PAYPAL SCAM.

They encourage you to use paypal and often offer you more than you asked for.

You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't.

It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.

If the item requires shipping they will tell you that they will pay you extra and you must pay the agent via western union / moneygram BEFORE the funds are released to you.

They are not interested in the item, they just want the western union etc funds and you will never see money in your paypal balance.

They also threaten legal action...have a laugh at that one and ignore it as its rubbish.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.

Paypal NEVER expect you to use a rival money transfer service.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I received an email from MARY WATSON stating she was deaf and had recently had heart surgery. She wanted to pay full price for the sofa and ship it to France. However she said she had transferred enough money to cover the sofa & courier and asked that I pay the courier myself..... RED FLAG!!! I then received a very convincing looking email from PayPal saying a payment was pending. Fortunately I trust no-one so called PayPal who informed me that no such email was sent from them and no money was pending to go into my account. I emailed Mary Watson to say I would not be involved in the packaging & shipping and that the sofa was no longer available. Surprisingly I never received a reply !
