Can't close my paypal account

I've been trying to close my paypal account for the last two hours and constant been confronted by a error message saying "Before you close your account - We're sorry, there seems to be a problem. Please try again later."

Why exactly is this?

Could be you have an ongoing subscription.

Could be you have Ebay fees listed to go out via your paypal account set up.

Could be you have a processing paypal payment ongoing.

Could be you have a refund processing.
