Bank account suddenly not confirmed

I have had my eBay and PayPal account for a number of years now and never had an issue before. Went to purchase an item on eBay yesterday and it kept saying error setting up payment method or something along those lines, so I log into my PayPal to see what the issue is and it's asking me to confirm my bank account. This is the same account I've used for years and was always confirmed and in use before so I can't understand why it's suddenly not working. I also have my debit card from the same account linked to my PayPal and it's not due to expire anytime soon. When I have clicked on to confirm account it says cannot confirm so I'm a bit stuck in what I can do. I buy and sell a lot on eBay so this is causing some issue a for me. I have money in my PayPal account waiting to be put in my bank but can't do it

You haven't accidentally cancelled the direct debit mandate on your online banking for paypal have you?

If not then all i can advise is you contact customer services as they can view your account for possible reasons  >>

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".
