I paid for an item on ebay, but the transaction cancelled itself?

I know I didn't have enough in my paypal to pay for the item

But doesn't paypal take from your bank account anyway?

I have enough money there, but when I checked ebay, 

paypal tried to transfer money from my bank account but it failed, 

so now the paypal payment to the seller is now cancelled.

basically,

how can i make it so i can make the payment since the payment cancelled itself because the transfer failed on its own?

UPDATE:

Just called the seller and paypal.

Apparently the seller cancelled since I didn't pay the shipping because shipping couldn't be calculated from where he lived to where I lived.

Will try to pay for it again with shipping.

Hi pnoyben13,

You need to find out why the transfer failed.  Contact PayPal and your bank... ask them if they know why the transfer failed.

To call PayPal, login to your PayPal account, click on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of any PayPal page and select the "Call Us" option to obtain a Web PIN number and the PayPal phone number for your account.

Have you previously used the same bank account to fund other successful PayPal payments?

Yes, I've made successful transactions with the same paypal account before.

I just don't know why it's acting this way all of a sudden.

I'll try to contact them and see if they can help me fix this problem.

I've also started to transfer money into my paypal account from my bank to see if that would fix the problem, since the item I payed for cost 15$ but I only had 2$ in my paypal account.

Not sure if that will do anything, but hopefully, it'll do something.
