Ebay payment

Can anyone help.

I have used ebay and paypal for years without any real problems and have 2 email adresses linked to the account and haven't had any issue up until now.

I have set up a new ebay account using one of the email addresses  but now, having sold a few items, the buyer has attempted to make payment but nothing is in my account and the timer is still shown on the Ebay payment page.

When I try to investigate and it takes me through the verification process is says I'm not recognised (I even pressed the confirmation of phone number and am still waiting for the verification code, even though it would expired a few hours back.)

What should I do?

Go and find the transaction in your “my ebay” > click to the right where it says sell similar > don't fill in anything just scroll down to the payments section > look in the paypal box > is the email addy in there correct with no spelling mistakes? If so then it would have been wrong on your finished auctions so come back for more advice.

Thank you for that, great advice.

I had missed out 1 letter on my address!

However, because I have another account with that adress it won't accept it so I have had to resort to an old email, which is live and been accepted.

Will the payment automatically go through now or do I have to ask the buyer to resend?

If you have added that email address to your paypal account, (as you can have up to 8 on the one account)
and verify it then the payments should come through.

They haven't.

I have verified, at least twice an already existing email address and deleted the one I had mispelt but nothing.

Really frustrating as now each time I need to sign in it says it doesn't recognise my ay name.

No comms from buyers either..

Ok if the misspelt one is not a valid email address then the funds can't proceed and you can't change an email address on a finished auction.

You need to contact your buyers and ask them to see what it says in there paypal accounts either:

1. Unclaimed with a cancel option.
2. Unclaimed.
3 Completed.

If its:
Unclaimed with a cancel option.

Then ask them to cancel the payment but tell them that it will take a few days to go back to their funding source if they funded their original payment with a debit or credit card. Then get them to use the "send money" > Goods option and pay to your email address. Tell them DO NOT use the ebay option or it will direct them to ebay checkout and the same thing will happen.

Unclaimed.

If there is no cancel option then the buyer will get their money back automatically 30 days after paying if it remains unclaimed. If it changes to completed they need to come here for advice. You will need to sort out between you if you want to still go ahead with the sale or cancel it.

Completed.

If its completed then come back for more advice.

Then next time you list an item for sale change the email addy during the listing process and check everytime.

Also to help you sort things with your buyers you can pull their contact info if its an ebay transaction. Go to advanced search top of ebay pages > contact member left column > fill in the details and ebay will send you an email with their telephone number.

Thank you so much for your fantastic help.

At the moment 3 buyers have collected no problem but the remaining ones haven't responded to my messages yet (Maybe away for the weekend.)

Hopefully all will be well and I'll follow your advice but if you can bear it I'll get back to you if I need to.

Many many thanks

Hello

I recently sold my first ever item on eBay thinking that if someone buys the item they will pay, i'll see the money on my PayPal statement and i'll send the item.

That didn't happen, what happened was I got an email that was from the buyer VIA PayPal confirming the payment? But nothing was showing up on my account?

Also my account APPARENTLY hadn't been verified even though i've been using PayPal to buy things for a good while with no problems?

Apologies if this is a frequent question!

Thanks
