Removing a lost bank debit card - what happens next?

Hi

So I lost my debit card today and the new card would take 2-5 working days to arrive. I have three questions in this regards. Plase bear with me if they are of very basic knowledge.

I still have the lost card attached with my paypal. I also have my bank account linked.

1. If I remove my lost card from the paypal, which eventually I'll have to, will I still be able to buy or sell on ebay directly via bank account?

2. Will I lose the bank account as well by unlinking the debit card? I'm not unlinking for this very concern.

3. How can I change the prefer transaction method from debit card to bank account on paypal for the time being as I don't see any option to do so?

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers!

When you get your new card, link and confirm it, then remove the old card.

No, you won't loose your bank account but, again when you get your new card, link and confirm it, then remove the old card.  (It's just cleaner this way.)

You can change your payment source on the checkout screens.  You will be able to select a preferred funding method for payments made through the regular checkout process as well as Goods and Services via Send Money.  You will also have the option to select a different preferred method for online purchases vs. in-store purchases via your PayPal account profile settings under Payments - Your preferred way to pay.

Thank very much Quandary for quick reply.

Yes I've just checked this. On ebay when choosing paypal for payment, it says debit card as back up. So I think paypal is choosing my bank account as the primary source of funds.

However, is ebay an 'in-store'? In my understanding all those online websites that accept paypal for purchasing are in-store, correct? For example if I want to use DV247 website which now accepts paypal, could this website be called an in-store? I'm intending to buy something from this website and wondering if it will give me the same option at check out as of ebay to choose priority method of payment and the deduction would be from my bank account directly and not the lost card. Just don't want it to bounce back because of a deactivated lost card.

Many thanks again for your reply mate.

Cheers!
