Block automatic transfers from linked bank account

While I had sufficient Paypal balance, a payment was done via my linked bank-account. I DO NOT EVER WANT THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN!!!

How do I setup that never ever a payment is done via my bank? If I don't have (enough) balance, just no payment. NEVER AUTOMATIC VIA MY BANK *%3@$#@!!!

Is this posible? If not, I want nothing to do with Paypal. Too unsafe.

Paypal always use your paypal balance unless >>>

1. The funds are pending in that balance.

2. You use pay after delivery?

3. The funds are in another currency.

4. For security reasons they prefer to use a card etc ie for buying virtual items.

Did any of those apply to you?

No, this is for me unacceptable. Never ever I want money taken from my regular bank-account without me giving permission for each and every payment first. Paypal must keep their hands of my bankaccount. In case of no balance, no payment, no transaction. Simple as that. Paypal being able without my interaction withdrawing money from my bankaccount is a disaster waiting to happen. NOT SAFE!

If only paying with Paypal balance (pre-paid only) is not possible, Paypal is a stupid unsafe service. And I will start using a debet card again. Many options without giving extremely dangerously access to my regular bank account.
