Adding money (wait time) and adding debit card

So I was adding money to my paypal account from my personal bank account. I saw where it said if you add a debit/credit card the transaction was instant (?) is this really the case. I added my debit card about a half hour ago and although Im not expecting it to be available yet does it really speed up the 3-5 days wait time. I added the card because last time I transferred money it took 8 days.

Instant transfers do require both a bank account and credit card.   When you added the card, did you confirm it?

I did. In My Money section it has the card I added last night but the transfer hasnt gone through yet
