I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with Canada Post and they're saying that it's PayPal that wants the HS code.

The trick is copy and paste the HS code then remove the punctuation - no periods. It didn't print on my shipping labels.

It doesn't print on the Expedited Parcel - USA label, but it may print on other lables. Enter digits only.

The code prints on the customs form beside the description of the contents.

I've been shipping without this code for years. All of a sudden I can process a shipping label through PayPal without it. Thanks for the "1234567" tip. I tried the actual code for what I was selling (it had many zeros and decimals) and it rejected it. Is this a PayPal thing, or a Canada Post problem?

This is the reply I received from a senior resolution specialist at Canada Post:

"I did receive information on the request about the New HS number with Paypal and I was advised that you would need to contact Paypal directly."
