Geekbuying is a scammer! No action from Paypal!

I bought a smartphone on Dec. 25th. Two weeks after complaining no shipping has been confirmed, they finally sent me a tracking number but never registered on Singapore Post. One week later they sent me new tracking number...for a product sent to India (I live in Europe). They recognized a mistake but ask me to wait for the product to come back to them from India and then they will refund me!!!! 

 

I complained to Paypal, they quickly received a tracking number from Geekbuying...the same they sent me the first time which still doesn't appear on Singapore Post and which, they told me later, was not good!!!!! I wrote Paypal to explain. No answer from them.

 

Conclusion: Geekbuying are scammers (I have read many similar stories), Paypal allows them to use their payment system, customers think they are safe with Paypal but they don't take any relevant action when something wrong happen. This is not the Paypal I used to know but it is still time to correct.

I paid 41.75$ for 10-15 days shipping and even paid 1.99$ for insurance. What Geekbuying did, they dumped the parcel on regular 5$ mail. What saves them close to 40$ you paid, but they don't give you the service you paid for. Told them I do not accept the parcel as to late and I want my money back. Open dispute with PP and Geekbuying sends me a message: I need to pay 20$ more for shipping back! Hehehehe So I have insurance, they want more money even they didn't match the services I paid for and want 20$ fee to send the 41.75$ parcel back.. Fraud! You can't name it different and Paypal supports such companies? Wow.. bit speechless.

Paypal refunded me the amount for product, courier and insurance I paid to Geekbuying. Geekbuying tried to get even more money from me. What a bunch of fraudsters! Thanks Paypal.. I would suggest to take those guys off your list, the mail charges scam they do seem to be popular in China right now. Pay for courier, get regular mail and most accept that behavior, what doesn't help to get rid of the fraud. Is your parcel to slow.. REJECT IT!!!!

I forgot to write the end of the story. I have to be fair with Paypal. They finally reimbursed me one month after the payment to Geekbuying. So, Paypal is not that bad at the end but they communicate very badly. All my negative comments should have been avoided. Also, they should not authorise crooks to use their payment service.

I already returned their defective product for which they asked me to pay for return shipping and that they would just reimburse / refund me the return USPS shipping fee. They already got the item and they still wouldn't give me the 2 refund - one for the defective phone that I returned and one for the return shipping fee. I sent them emails but the response time is so slow and very delayed. I never got any response until I decided to do the useless live chat that does not cater to "aftersales" supposedly. They still refuse to send me a refund whereas the first time I sent them an email about the defect, they said they would issue a refund for the phone and then later for the return shipping fee. So, they already got the item and they are still delaying everything. This company is a sham and a scam.

 

PayPal didn't accept my disputes for the item's price and the return shipping fee that geekbuying promised to refund.

 

I demand a refund of $144.99 (defective phone) and $23.50 (return shipping fee that I paid for only because geekbuying promised to refund the amount).

 

The service, response and refund is very very delayed.
