I just received a chargeback from an ebay transaction dated Jan 2007. How am I suppose to respond since it is over six and a half years old? Is there not a time limit on chargebacks? I saw this in my email and thought it has to be a scam. But logging into paypal - there is is a current chargeback from 2007. Does this mean all paypal users need to keep proof of delivery indefinitely?
There's only a 45 day window for opening a dispute. Obliviously something is odd. The only people that can view account info is customer support, you need to speak with someone there.
Spoke to CS and he said likely would lose the case unless I provided a valid tracking number. went through my files and actually found the tracking number. However FedEx only keeps data for 18 months. But since I provided the tracking number they settled the case in my favor. Could not explain how this person was able to file a dispute 6 years later
I had the exact same thing happen to me over the weekend. From January 2007 as well!! I wonder if it's the same buyer. I am highly upset. I have the shipping info also and sent it to Paypal. Wondering how long this process will take!?!
