Seller and buyer protection zero for digital items.
BUT if a buyer files a dispute and the seller has funds in their paypal balance then paypal will normally refund the buyer.
The reason they don't have protection is that if the seller does not have funds in their paypal balance then paypal won't refund the buyer under its buyer protection scheme.
So paypal will try and get money back for the buyer for digital items but as there is no buyer protection its not guaranteed.
However a seller has no protection at all if a dispute is filed especially from chargebacks.

There is no seller protection on paypal for digital items, if you choose to sell them then it is at your own risk.

true? I think its buyer's risk? I remember seeing that mentioned in buyer protection policy, but I have just got a charge back. I also remember I was selling game cdkey years ago and usually failed chargeback, dispute cases.
Its sad if its true 😞

thank you, I get the point now. Maybe I should find an alternative way to process payments for my shop then. Its about game license, once customers use the product, they are free to claim money back 😞 I don't quite understand why PP do this for it opens door to fraudulent buyers.

They do it as the only way that a seller can prove an item is delivered to a buyer is via a tracking number that proves delivery and you can't do that for digital items.
A lot of so called buyers know this and try and scam those sellers. Thats why i said beware !!
