Friend payment "We’re taking a closer look at this payment."

Questions in the title really! A friend just sent me some money, and its showing as pending for the reason;

'We’re taking a closer look at this payment. It’s required for some payments and normally takes up to 24 hours. Please don't send until we tell you it’s OK.'

Theres nothing to send! The payment was sent as a personal payment too...

Any ideas if why this happened? will it tranfer on the stroke of 24 hours later?!

Are you sure when they sent it that they used the friends / family option?

Then if so it could be >>

1. A random secuirty check.

2. They are checking its not a sale and you are selling and asking for gift payments.

3. They are double checking the senders account for whatever reason.

Apparently he did yes!

It must just be a random check then, I get it sometimes when i try to withdraw money, sometimes it says it takes up to 72 hours....

Is this something that will clear its self when 24 hours on the dot have passed?

Yes it does seem to be on the dot, but i of course can't guarantee that.
