A couple of months ago I decided to buy a popular toy, a masterpiece optimus prime. We don't get them in Turkey so I went to eBay. But the prices were too high and I went to a popular Transformers fan site. There I posted on a thred where people middlemanned MP Optimus Prime toys without making low to none profit. Someone who has a good eBay and forum feedback said he could get one for me and sent him $145. At first, the communication was excellent. Then he failed to ship it on the day he said he would. But I was content to wait a bit more. He then said he shipped it but after a month I got nothing. I told him I didn't get the package and he said he was going to refund me but he was busy. I checked his feedback page on the forums and saw some other people complained about the same things but got their money back. Only people who didn't live in USA didn't get their refunds. Meanwhile my gf opened up a dispute on paypal but it closed automatically because it had been more then 45 days. When she told me about it I e-mailed Paypal Turkey but they said they can do nothing except keeping this claim in sellers records. I asked them about reaching Paypal USA because they care about their customers. But they said they couldn't do anything about it with an automated reply. Then I e-mailed the seller again and told him that I'll leave a negative comment on his feedback page if he doesn't pay in a week and he didn't. He no longer replies me. What should I do now? Should I forget about my money and move on? How can one expect a transaction take place in 45 days if the buyer and seller are separated by thousand of kilometers?

It's unfortunate you got scammed. The scammer knows the PayPal policies and how to make the policies work for his or her needs. You can't blame PayPal.

I don't blame Paypal. It's just I think they can be a bit understanding in such cases.
