Unable to use new EVM card on Coinbase.

For a long time, I used my PayPal Business Debit on Coinbase with no problems. However, when I got the new EVM card, I am now unable to use it on Coinbase (every time I try to make a purchase, the order is immediately cancelled without explanation). I asked Coinbase support and they said that the cancellations were coming from the card issuer, not them. I have reached out to PayPal but have gotten no response. Is anyone else having issues with the new card? Since Coinbase is based out of the UK, is there some sort of permission I must grant with the new card in order to allow international purchases? Thanks.

I still have a regular PayPal Business Debit Card.  I got a notification that I'd be getting a chipped card, but haven't received it as of yet.  I bought on Coinbase on Nov 22.  After I used it more than once, they declined the payment.  I asked Coinbase, they also said the block was coming from the card issuer.  So, I wrote a scathing note to PayPal.  I received no response, but was again able to purchase on Nov 29th, so I figured someone had fixed the problem.  Then, just today, I tried again, and it was again declined.  This is very frustrating.  I wrote again to PayPal, but I don't know if they'll repy.  I'm too busy to navigate a phone tree and get transferred 10 times to wait on the phone, so I only emailed.  Maybe I'll have to call, I'm getting really tired of having my hands tied like this.  I didn't used to have any problems buying with my card on Coinbase...

Is Coinbase where Bitcoins are traded?

It could be Paypal is blocking Coinbase,if you cant use Paypal account and then you can use its debit card.

from coinbase website, you can receive payment with your paypal account ,but not use it to buy.

using your Paypal business debit card is one way of getting around it,it looks like Paypal kills it.

Same issue here. "Transaction canceled by your bank."
I also had similar issues with my PayPal debit card transactions all of the sudden being declined (with no PayPal balance but plenty in the backup funding account) when there were no changes on my bank or settings. I went back and forth a number of times with my bank and PayPal. The bank said PayPal's debits had an incomplete account number. I re-added the account 3 times over the course of a couple weeks and the same thing kept happening. Finally having a customer service rep on PayPal's end manually remove all accounts and re-add my bank account (same account number) it worked for a day or so. That was over a month ago and since then I've been told the only way it will work is if I transfer in money so there's a balance, wich I've been doing simply for the cash back aspect. Funny how you can get a negative balance taken care of instantly with a transfer but to add a positive balance takes 3-5 business days. Anyway, just all that to say there's something wonky on PayPal's end with business debit cards that no one on their end seems to be able to resolve - they always blame the other source.

Paypal business debit card is supposed to use your Paypal fund and ifnot enough, take the remaining from your bank account, but it does not always work.

just curious,do you have a credit card linked to your Paypal account?

Fully aware of how its supposed to work, but I used it for years without a balance (just linked to bank for backup). I have just a bank account and debit card linked (same account) to PayPal now.

the Paypal debit MC card has not been working well for sometime now,the old one without the chip, and now the new one with the chip.

some swipe machine would not accept the old card?

If it is not tapping your bank account, there must be some software change that they dont go one step further if you dont have enough Paypal fund,it just does not access your bank account,it would require 2 steps-first you paypal account and then your bank account.

I have been a fully verified PayPal user for years without ever experiencing issues until recently. I have recently attempted to purchase BTC through CoinBase after successfully linking my PayPal account through a PayPal MasterCard debit card. I've tried to make a purchase 5 times and each time the transaction was apparently successful but then immediately canceled by PayPal resulting in me being blocked from the CoinBase service. How could I be unable to make this transaction while having sufficient funds in my account? My account is not limited and there are no pending funds/transactions or open disputes or any other risk factors such as those. I just used my card yesterday without issue as well. Is there any explanation for this? Thanks.

On Coinbase website, you can accept payment via Paypal but you cannot use Paypal to buy .

so some folks get around it by using Paypal business debit card, same thing right,it will tap your Paypal fund backed by bank fund.

It looks like Paypal catches on and block Coinbase.

It is possible Paypal is blocking all digital currencies sites from accepting Paypal business debit card.

use a regular creditc ard instead.
