Under the limit Moneypak still needs verification?

Hi, so about a month ago I used a moneypak card for 40 bucks, no issues, very cool.  I decided that I liked it, so I bought another one for 50 bucks.  However, this one is asking for my SSN, which I am not cool with.  After browsing, I have found that this is normally for the $250 limit, but I am well under that.  Help?
