Seller sent item that doesn't fit, doesn't respond

I ordered an electronic item from DX.com on the 2nd of december, but it doesn't work theway it is supposed to and doesn't fit the way it should. I haven't been able to get any response from them at all.
So, I went to the PayPal site and tried to set up a dispute, but I can't make that work, either.
So I called and got a code to open a dispute, but there are no links to make it go. The automatic telephone tutorial tell me to open my account and click on a link, but it's not there.
It then said if its not there it would be another link on the other side of the page.
That isn't there, either.
I went through all these steps several times and it just doesn't work.
I don't know why I can't do this, but I've come to the conclusion that it isn't going to happen and I will just have to throw in the towel.
I have learned a few lessons, though.

Pretty easy to open a dispute, go and click on "resolve a problem in the resolution centre" lower left of your paypal summary page.
Advice is voluntary.

When I go to open a dispute the option I have a problem with an item I purchased is greyed out and I can't select it.

It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
