Just got home in taxi and went to shut down and close app. Card reader dead to the world. Won't even wake up when I plug in charger. Should I look for a reset button ?

Did you use the blue button to turn it off or on?
There is a reset option, but I forget what it was. You could do a search here or even a Google search for help. You could also phone PayPal customer service and talk to a PayPal Here specialist.

Cheers. I wonder if the reset is in the little hole beside the power button. I'll have to try customer service.

I found this information with a Google search which took me back to this PayPal forum:
- Locate the small opening next to the power button on the Chip & PIN card reader.
- Insert a pin into this opening and hold it until you see the green triangle flash 8 times and one asterisk sign lit up. This indicates that the device has undergone a factory reset.
- Once the Bluetooth light starts blinking, pair the card reader to your smartphone or iPad and open the PayPal Here app.
- Complete any initialisation or updates if the App prompts you to. We recommend that you complete this step using a WiFi connection and with the card reader connected to a power source.
- Once the card reader has been initialised and the software update has been completed (if needed), the card reader is ready to be used for payments.
