paying with multiple accounts

I am a Canadian that wants to purchase something at Bestbuy.com (American Location) Let’s day I have $150 USD and $100 Canadian, plus a credit card account linked. If I purchase a $300 item from BestBuy, how will the money be taken from my accounts? Will the transaction go through, because I have less currency in those accounts, by taking the rest from my credit card? Thank you - Xardoh

Hi Xardoh,

Great question! When you go through a checkout process, we'll offer you options to make a purchase. In the situation you described, you'll have a few different options. You can choose to pay with your balance or your card. If you choose your balance, you'll have the ability to choose CAD, USD, or both to fund the transaction. If you choose CAD, you'll have to pay our currency conversion rate on those funds before the payment is completed, which will take away from your total. Because you don't have the total amount between the two currencies, we'll charge the primary funding source for this transaction to make up the difference.

This means, no matter what you choose with currencies, the rest of the amount will charge the card, and you can choose PayPal's or your bank or card company's conversion rate. I hope this information helps! Have a great rest of your day. 🙂
