how do i buy something from a private individual?

I want to buy a part from a guy in ontario. How do I know he will send it and how do i pay him? Thanks

He can send you a money request OR invoice to pay.

OR you can use his paypal email address and use the send money > goods option.

All those ways are covered by buyer protection BUT you need to read up on that buyer protection first to see what coverage it gives you.

Go to legal agreements bottom of every paypal page > user agreement > buyer protection.

ask him to send you a Paypal invoice and describe the item you will be getting.

If he does not deliver or deliver a faulty part,you can file item not received or item not as described in 180 days.

custom order does not qualify for buyer protection.

pay with your credit card to get extra protection in case Paypal buyer protection fails,then you can do a chargeback with your cc issuer.
