Paypal refusing deposits and debit card transactions

For about the last year, I have been having problems with Paypal refusing money additions as well as debit card transactions. On the deposits, they have no reason or explanations. I took screen shots as documentation, and used contact us which was useless as they just gave instructions how to add money. I've had this account since 98/99 and know how it works. Also especially more recently, I've been having troubles with the Paypal debit card refusing transactions at stores, which can be very embarrassing and frustrating when there is plenty of money to pay the transaction. Paypal just give excuses of new security measures. I've threatened legal action, and will do so, but think that is ridiculous and should be settled without such legal action. Any others having similar problems, maybe not just legal suit, but class action if there are others with same problems. Thanks

The only advice I can give you is to not use your PayPal account as much if it is not working.  You do not have to add money to it, or can use your credit or debit cards to fund online payments through PayPal or use your own credit/debit cards themselves online or in-store.  All that lawsuit stuff is of no consequence.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Sharpie hit the nail on the head.  If you are having problems using PayPal I would simply find another service which works better for your needs.  I too have experienced problems such as yours and chose to just find a provider who could provide the service without causing me grief or a headache in the process.  Plus, if you have been threatening legal action I would say the fine people at PP will be even less likely to assist any issues and more likely to limit your account on a whim.  I understand why you made a legal action threat but the reality is no one likes ot be threatened, even businesses don't.  I hope you are able to get your situation worked out.

Does your different provider also give the cash back, 1% I believe? And no fees to add money?

From my checking account which has been linked for several years now, makes absolutely no sense to refuse money being put INTO my Paypal account.

Try this link: http://www.paypal.com/addfunds

If that don't work try adding money through the phone app.

Try https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ppcash

Be careful not to over do it with the repeated failed transactions.  This could cause the system to not block certain actions and give out errors.

As for the debit card, did you run the charges as credit?  Also make sure you are not exceeding your daily limits too.  You can find what your limits are by clicking the PayPal Debit card link ust under the PayPal Balance.  Then click Details in the PayPal Balance box on the left.  I by chance found out recently I had above standard limits on my card, holy cow!

As stated, I've been making deposits for years and I know how to make them, during the last year, with no explanations, some deposits (add funds) have been rejected. As far as daily limitations, not even close, I'm talking $10 to $50 transactions, and they are the only transactions for the entire day (I forget but think my limits are like $400/day) also, it is not a new pattern for me, as I've been traveling all over Florida for almost 10 years, Paypal has been violating account agreement by refusing deposits and payments only in the last year, maybe just over a year.

Maybe that is the problem.  You are traveling and PayPal does not recognize some of the location you log in from. Otherwise, we don't exactly know what is causing the problem since you've had the account for years and know to add money and make purchases.

You will need to contact customer service or use PayPal where it recognizes your IP or it's not changing locations many times.

And PayPal is not violating it's UA if there is a security/risk management reason for the blockage of certain account activities.
