Paypal Personal Accounts now have Fees?

Hey guys , i haven't used paypal in a while so i'm not sure if my memory is incorrect or if things have changed, but in any case, please clarify for me.

I remember back there there were 3 types of accounts, personal, premier, and business.   I remembered personal accounts had no fees on payments received from ebay purchases, and premier had like 2.9%+0.30 USD fee.  I had  a personal account and i don't remember receiving any fees, however, i noticed lately i've been receiving the 2.9%+0.30 USD fee for ebay payments to me.  Did they change the structure and are now charging this fee to personal accounts, or has it always been this way and i'm just  misremembering stuff?

The reason that there used to be no fee on a personal account was because it was against the rules to sell and use a personal account for selling.

But now that they are phasing out premier accounts you can use a personal account to sell as long as you are not a registered company when a business account is more appropriate.

But the same rules apply, if you are selling then you should be paying a fee per transaction.

If you try to evade those fees by asking the buyers to send via the friends / family option then you risk your paypal account being permanently limited.

I don't ever remember ever using paypal's personal account to receive money ebay purchases being "Against" PAypal rules, where are you getting this from? what year is this?  IT was actually Ebay that prompts the user to create an paypal account for the purposes for buying and selling, and it was especially after ebay had bought out paypal.

Only thing i remember was that it was it made more sense for medium to high volume sellers to upgrade to Premier or business accounts.  For personal accounts that had low volumes or barely sold, it was ok.  At least this is from what i remembered.

PayPal has folded Premier accts into Personal accts so now all incoming funds from sales are charged PayPal fees.

Ebay and Paypal did break, butI was talking about back then Ebay and PAypal were one company, they basically forced you to PAypal.  This is just a point i'm making since the previous poster stated that back then personal accounts could not be used for low volume sales, since it's "against paypal's rules" as the poster stated.

This sounds completely absurb to me and i ever remember using  PErsonal accounts to make some low sales being against the rules ever since i joined back in 2010, unless he was talking about before 2010.

if you have a personal account and you sell and accept payment, then there is a  transaction fee and 2.9% fee .

Iyou friend or family send you money via friend and family, then there is no fee.

Just because you don't remember it does not mean it was not a fact.

If you sold on a personal account then the minute you had a card funded payment you HAD to upgrade to a premier account and WERE NOT ALLOWED to sell on a personal account. BUT you were still charged a fee to sell on that personal account until you had to upgrade.

Personal accounts were for buying or sending to friends / family.

Premier accounts were for small businesses or sellers using ebay to sell odds and ends.

Business accounts were for companies etc.

Again, i never stated it wasn't a fact or anything, i just wondered if it was a fact.  Because like i said, i honestly don't remember all the changes that was made with paypal cause i used paypal so infrequent and i didn't really keep up with the changes, thus the whole reason i made this thread to clarify some things for me.  Thanks for all the info though.
