Call customer service to get your funds released manually, allow a couple days for the request to process.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I have called them to do it manually and they are refusing to release if. Also was told it would be released on the 1st dec 7am American time. Now it's saying "try again later" In one section and not till the 10th in another... FYI we are also talking about just over $5,000 here. Buyer has paid, received item and left a glowing review on eBay....

That's it...the amount of money is high.  How long has it been since you received this payment originally?  It's likely they will keep it on hold the full 21 days because it is high value.  Know why?  When disputes happen and you qualify for seller protection, PayPal may have to reimburse you as well as refund the buyer their money so you can see how PayPal maybe reticent to release the 5K as the buyer can file a duspute for any reason within 180 days from payment.  The 21 one days they are holding it is not enough but they do want to hold it as long as possible.  Can you imagine the amount of risk for PayPal who has large amounts of sales transactions?

Thought I would update everyone for future reference.... After A LOT. Of phone calls issue has finally been partly resolved. Money has been released into my Paypal account, but now the account is restricted. tips: post and Mark as sent on eBay ASAP. Always send In the post and never pickup-Add a tracking number! Get buyer to email you on eBay once they have received item (create as much of a paper trail as you can) 3 if buyer has left positve feedback on eBay, give a call to eBay and they can also request PayPal to release funds. If it's over $1000 have your Identification ready as your account will be restricted for another 3-5 days till they confirm your identification. I understand why they do it, but handing over an extremely precious and irreplaceable item I would also like some peace of mind. They changed the release date on me twice and no one knew why the system kept changing dates. Maybe for items up to a certain amount they could restrict for 14 days and anything above that amount for 21 days and keep to the schedule unless there's a dispute.

Oh also FYI I have gotten more response from contacting them on facebook, of all places, than I did with email or phone calls... go figure.
