Pay After Delivery Not Available

I know this has been asked many times. But why doesn't pay after delivery show up as an option? I have searched and read many posts about this issue. But I haven't found a solid answer other than it only random shows up or whatever. My account is verified and linked to my bank account. I do have it set as my preferred payment option but I don't see it when I try to checkout on an ebay item. Anyways I'd rather not deal with customer service if it's just going to be a hassle, so hopefully someone can help me out here. Thanks...

LOL I had the funds, I wouldn't make purchases if I knew I would be overdrawn...the purchases I made were all under $10 (in all acutality most of them were under $5) and they were made after I had already sent off my utility bills, PayPal took the money out without my consent as they didn't even give me a choice as to how to pay and they used my bank account instead and took out part of what was paid for my utility bills before they had a chance to go through and it turned into a domino effect of overdraft charges, as it was PayPal that unfortunately got to my bank account before my utility checks went through and that caused my bills to bounce...it was not my fault that PayPal chose my payment method for me for 8 ebay items that were all less than $10 that I knew full well I had the money for instead of letting me choose the payment method for myself.  I don't understand why I am being singled out here, as many people on this forum and on eBay's have said the same thing had happened to them, but they aren't being called frivolous and irresponsible.  I have said countless times that my budget was all well planned (it always is) and I wasn't going down that crazy frivolous irresponsible road that y'alls are saying I'm going...basically I just came on here in the first place to let people know what happened to me and to warn people about what PayPal and Pay After Delivery can do to their budgets, their pocketbooks and bank accounts, and I'm being labeled and singled out here for just trying to help and for something that's happened to quite a few of us already, NOT JUST ME.

You are right a similar situation happened to me minus the overdraft PayPal does at times select a payment option for you I've verified this with cs they are familiar with this error and anyone who says this doesn't occur has not had it happen t them yet, I suggest deleting accounts you don't want to use at the given time I know it's a pain but it's what cs offered up

This has happened to me as well. For many years I have PAD, all of a sudden I get hit with 233.00 in overdraft fees and requesting disputes. My bank wasn't willing to work with me either. I had to pay off the overdrawn account open a new one and start fresh. O have clocked in the PAD option but when I go to check out it automatically uses my card on file. Total B's. I have contacted PayPal several times about this and I do not get the correct answers at all. Did this PAD all of a sudden just disappear and they not inform their consumers. The only reason I chose PAD is becUae numerous occasions I have received items that were junk or didn't work or fit properly. I like to test it before I actually buy and this is why I chose PAD but it no longer exist. What gives Paypal. You are going to definitely lose me as a customer right along with eBay

It upset me to see that you said that its their fault for not living within their means. You have no right to judge them and you don't know their situation so what right do you have to say that. FYI it could be a situation like mine. we had a breakin and not only did the take household stuff clothes ect... they took our christmas presents from under our tree. now do you think i have the money stashed back to replace all at once? no not with bills being due too. if you can't say nothing nice don't say it at all and keep your opinions to your self .Its negative judgemental people like you that should stay out of conversations that think they know it all

tinalynngip75 I read that yesterday and thought the same thing! Personally I've gone as far as calling customer service and trying to find out what's going on because they say I have PAD and it's turned on but has NEVER came up as an option all I have ever seen is my cards and e-check. I've even asked if the ones that have had it work could let us know the details, merchant name product new or used ect... No one has replied to me

OK, so this is what I have learned in the past year of using PAD. This comes from trial and error and numerous calls to customer service. PAD only works on US based sellers; If you combine items from different sellers in your cart and attempt PAD it will not work properly. You have to pay for each seller separately. There is an option at the top of each item to "pay this seller only." Do that for each different seller. You can order multiple items from the same seller and PAD works fine. I have two different checking accounts linked to my Paypal, both of which have the PAD option. When completing my purchase I simply click on the "change" payment button which shows up when Paypal is shown and your default account is listed. Click the "change" button, choose which account has PAD active and complete your payment. This may or may not work for everyone but I, too, went thru months of trying to figure out why PAD wasn't offered or didn't work. I've used it all year with only a couple instances when it didn't work properly. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your struggle with PAD. I went thru the same thing myself. It has worked flawlessly for me for at least eight months now. I can't list all the sellers it worked with as they were various and numerous, mostly for electronics etc. Vendors outside of ebay that it worked with were Better World Books and Daily Steals. That was last year though. I hesitate in offering any advice as the last time I tried to help out on this forum I was called, "pompous" with little knowledge of how "credit cards" work! This I can say with certainty, PAD is not a "credit card" and while it may feel like credit, it is only a delayed payment method. I apologize if this response is not the one you had hoped for but all I can suggest is trial and error. I was always able to "back out" of a transaction if PAD wasn't one of my payment options. On "buy it now" items I don't think you can "back out." Hope this helps.

What a pompous, self-righteous, absurd thing to say. I can only assume you've never had a credit card in your life. What is happening with Pay After Delivery is a simple as this: 1. Paypal offers "qualified" members a short line of credit. 2. Members who want the additional flexibility accept the offer, subject to Terms of Use established BY PAYPAL. 3. At checkout, Paypal displays PAD as the default payment option. 4. Members check out, in reliance on Paypal's stated 14-day delay period for withdrawing funds from the linked account. 5. Paypal, disregarding the terms they've offered and the encouragement they've given members to use PAD, immediately begins withdrawing funds from the member's bank account, with flagrant disregard for the devastating consequences to the member's financial condition. It is now March, 2016, and I have read and read the complaints about this dysfunctional payment option going back two years. It is unconscionable that Paypal continues to lure people into false expectations that lead them nowhere but to disaster. And the most bizarre thing about it, as near as I can discern, is that there is no particular advantage to Paypal, unless they are getting kickbacks from banks' overdraft charges. I mean, ya gotta keep those wheels of commerce turning, sure, because they get their cut from vendors, but is it really worth all this harm and misery?
