I was asked to make payment for a purchase using friends and family, but I didn't want to do that so I offered to pay the fees and asked the seller to send me the goods and services payment request. I think she sent me F&F. How can I tell for sure?

I think a payment reques will always go through as goods/services, not friends/family.
You should NOT be paying the fees for the seller; it is against PayPal policies.
You really should ask the seller for an invoice so you all the details on one page.
