Billed more than once, can't select duplicate

I'm trying to open a question about a duplicate payment from back in Sept 2016. Yes, I'm just now reconciling my accounts 😕

The problem is that while I can select the original transaction from Sept 5, 2016, I can't select the duplicate (which is from Sept 6, 2016) because that form won't let me select that far back. Aaargh! I can't actually submit the dispute.

And yes, I've already contacted the vendor, they have no record of the second transaction and agree that it looks funny; they've given me a case number to reference with PayPal. So I need PayPal to get involved in looking into it from their side.

They're sort of helpful. This is, alas, just outside the 180 day limit, so I can't open a formal ticket with them. The vendor (Microsoft) says they can only find my purchases by my order number with them. PayPal was actualy helpful in providing the MS transaction ID, but I'm stuck in a loop. MS says they can only find what's on my account, this transaction isn't. Ugh.

I'm inclined to accept the phone solution as the way to proceed since it sort of is, but I can't track this down and neither side is willing to do anything except send me back to talk to the other.

Go to www.paypal.com/history

Use the date range search at the top and use Sept 1 2016 as start date and let's say Sept 10 2016 as the end date, click Show.

Select Activity with Balance.

You want to see if the duplicate transaction's amount is factored into the PayPal balance.  Was the dupe payment funded by credit card?  And maybe the question to ask MS is not whether there is another order but a duplicate payment they received from PayPal.
