Beware my credit card was charged today for four different charges from a paypal account

Just a warning to others. LLBEAN visa called me today to let me know they saw four suspicious charges to my credit card from a paypal account called 'PAYPAL *FANTASY DRAFT L'. You may want to keep an eye on your credit cards even if not linked to paypal. My card is not linked to paypal, but someone got my card and then tried to charge it from a paypal account.

So what did you do about it?

Did you check your online credit card account to verify?

Did you check your PayPal account for recenti activity?

Who else has physical access to your credit card?  Is there a second card for the account?

LLBean cancelled my card and is sending a new one. There was no activity on my paypal account. It was some paypal account that was trying to charge my credit card, like I owed that paypal account money. They kept trying to charge different amounts, from $50 to $200. Several transactions. LLBean saw the weird activity and called me to verify that they should pay this paypal account. I told them heck no, I didn't know who it was. So now the card is cancelled and whoever has my number can go F themselves. I wish I could find the person because they would be very sorry when I got finished with them.

So, in the end you didn't get charged anything, is that correct?  Your accounts are all fine and it was just ATTEMPTS. 

It's great the credit card systems detect fraud, isn't it?

Since there were no actual charges there isn't anything to do as it was only attempted fraud.  Your credit card bank will take the appropriat steps.
