Any way to dispute a transaction more than 180 days old

Hey guys, 

I was wondering if there is a way to dispute a payment that was made more than 180 days old. 

I purchased a lifetime membership to a software, but after they updated their software they are saying that they will not honor the membership anymore and that i'll have to repurchase it again.

Not via paypal no BUT If you fund your paypal payment via a credit card then you could contact your card issuer and see if they will help you but to be honest a lot of them have a 6 month cut off point.

Or you could try private legal action.
