My paypal account is unverified and I want to add money to it using paypal my cash. Do paypal my cash cards work for unverified accounts?

a verified account is one which has a bank account verified and linked,so they know when you transfer fund to that bank account,it is your bank account,and vice versa

The purpose of PPMCC is so that people without bank account, etc can add money to PayPal account to pay online.  So if you do not have bank account/credit cards to verify your PayPal account, you can use PPMCC with unverified PayPal account although PayPal collects and verifies your legal name, address, date of birth and Social Security number in order to confirm your identity before you can use a My Cash Card to add money to your PayPal account.
