Add bank account in Anguilla?

I live in Anguilla and have a .ai PayPal account.

Even though Anguilla is listed by PayPal as one of the countries they do business in, I can't find an option to add a local bank account. It won't accept my local Visa debit card either. But it will take my Visa local credit card.

Any ideas?

Thanks! I am in the US to work and want to transfer money to purchase a used vehicle private party. The seller doesn't want to take a foreign check and wait for it to clear which is understandable.

then you have to go to US bank and buy him a cashier check.

or use cash to buy him as many USPS postal orders as needed ,he can cash them in local post office with proper ID

The problem is the money is down there. My US bank where I opened an account said 4-6 weeks for my foreign check to clear so they can issue a cashiers check.

Far as cash, I can only take out US$500 a day so that would take weeks, plus it's a $5 fee by each bank for each withdrawal.

At this point it looks like no other option but to wait the 4-6 weeks for the US bank to clear the foreign check.

The reason I made this thread though was I guess I don't understand how PayPal can be doing business in Anguilla yet not allow a bank account or debit card to be connected. Seems like they are only halfway on setting things up...

MAY BE PAYPAL does not haev much business there .

may be ask your friend and family in Anguilla to advance you some money.

You should have planned ahead if you want to buy a car.

Anguilla is the first country listed under Americas. When you click the link it takes you to sign up which I did. I SHOULD take you to a link where it states what PayPal's limitations are in that country!

it looks like all you can do is to send money.

It is not possible to access every bank in the world,not even SWIFT does .

Besides how many PAYPAL MEMBERS are from Anguilla,it is just not eco feasible .

In USA,we have ACH and it is free,in Canada they have similar set up ,but smaller less developed countries do not have a clearing system,how do Anguilla banks clear with each other>

if you have the Anguilla bank check book,why not write a check to your family,let them cash it and wire you the $ you need to buy a car.

You canNOT  use Paypal to buy car anyway,no one will be so foolish to accept Paypal payment for a car?

There is no ebay or PAYPAL PROTECTION FOR THE SELLER FOR CARS.
