paid as guest of paypal now i cant get help from paypal

I made a purchase on eBay and paid as guest on paypal, I called eBay and was told since I paid as a guest I need to contact paypal, and was given what I think is a transaction number, well I called paypal through the contact us number but all I gets is a machine that tries to help me with this account and doesn't find the transaction, how can I speak to an actual person at paypal? Or get this resolved? the money has been taking from me but on ebay its still marked as unpaid and when i look further it says the payment is pending

I also paid as a guest thinking paypal was an upstanding co. But what to my surprise they are just as crooked as the government. Just cancel the credit card and never use pay pal again. And if the co. You want to buy from only takes paypal you don't need it. Just find it some place else. Or go with out.

I too somehow bought an item as a guest. How do you buy something as a guest when you are logged in?
I think I may resolve this by just paying the seller and go without paypal.

If you pay as a guest, you don't need a PayPal Account. Simply use the option to Pay with a debit or credit card. It is displayed under the option to Pay wth My PayPal Account. If you do have a PayPal Account and you try pay with a debit or credit card that is registered and linked to your PayPal Account, you will be prompted to login to your PayPal Account or choose another credit card.
Here's some info that's not advertised but, happens all the time:
With PayPal's Payments Standard, PayPal advertises that you do not have to have a PayPal Account to make a purchase. This statement is quite true however, there is one small bit of very important information that is not mentioned in any of the available documentation.
Example Scenario:
You have returning customers or have clients that pay you for services or rent on a regular basis. After your customer or client pays you 3 to 4 times using the same credit card, PayPal will interrupt the transactions and require the customer or client to open a PayPal Account or ask the customer or client to use a totally different credit card. Although the customer or client's credit card is good, they will be unable to complete the transaction until they either open a PayPal Account or use a another credit card.
PayPal's mission it to sign up new business or accounts and by tracking the number of times a credit card is used is one method designed to help accomplish that goal. Opening a PayPal Account may be OK with some of your customers or clients but, perhaps not all. Just something to be aware of.
Last, should you pay using your credit card, no PayPal Account, and things go wrong, you can contact your card issuer and request assitance doing a chargeback. You can also contact PayPal's customer support and request assistance even though you don't have a PayPal Account. Note, it's probably easier to first try your credit card issuer but, at least there's two options for help with issues.
And of course, one can choose never to deal with PayPal and life goes on just fine.
