in what world does what it says about fees make sense?

Took me a bit to work it out but did in the end.

 

When you send a friends/ family payment then you only pay a fee if you fund it via a card. (If you fund it via bank transfer or funds in your paypal balance there is no fee).

 

The sender of the payment OR the receiver can pay the fee.

 

So in the left side of the lower column under "you'll pay" is the amount YOU will pay ie the $22 but on the right is the amount your mate will receive ie $20.84 as he is paying the fee.

 

You can change it so you pay the fee instead if you want.

It says NO FEE as you are not paying a fee, it only says fee on the receivers side.

 

There should be an option to click on for you to pay the fee.
