I am supposed to get my first payment from an affiliate today. I got the invoice and it said the money should be in my account within a few days. But, after a few hours of no emails, I logged into my paypal to find out I had not yet verified my email, which is stated as "You will be ready to recieve payments.". I am wondering what would happen if the payment was already sent? And what can I do about it?
Most larger affiliates will do a $1 test deposit mass pay to ensure all accounts are setup properly prior to sending money out to a possibly un-verified account. If the affiliate did this your payment was probably pulled from the mass pay prior to it ever going out and you will be paid on the next payment schedule. If you are dealing with a smaller affiliate the mass pay should still hit your accout but you may need to claim it.
