Set-up my account for receiving payments

Hi, I'm new to paypal.

My friend wants to send money to my paypal account, but it says that my account is not setup to receive payments.

Can you tell what should I do, to receive payments.

Try using this link - https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_show-limits&req_from=view_limits - to view your PayPal account limits. 

Does it say anything about a receiving limit?

When I set up my PayPal account, I confirmed my email address and linked a credit card... after that, I was able to accept payments.  Use this link - https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_show-limits&req_from=view_limits - to check your receiving limit.

What does it say about receiving payments?

Is your PayPal account a US PayPal account? 

Is your friend's PayPal account a US PayPal account?

Is your friend sending a Personal (friends and family) payment?

If yes, has he tried sending a Purchase payment?
