Hi, are buyer and seller transaction ID supposed to be different. Someone sent me a payment and then they sent me the transaction ID NUMBER but I'm looking at the receipt or whatever and they aren't the same at all. Is it supposed to be like that and if not, then what could be the problem thanks.
I suspect that they are different as they reference transactions in 2 separate accounts. The INVOICE number should be the same for both records, however.
Why did someone send you a payment?
In looking for problems, I suggest looking at how the sale/purchase was made. Are you the buyer or seller? Was the sale on an ecommerce web site or by direct buyer/seller transaction. Was there a seller-created invoice?
Why did the seller decide to send an email about the payment after it was completed successfully thorugh the invoice?
I assume the invoice payment was properly registered in your PayPal acocunt. The payment details should show whether it is OK to ship or not. That's all you need.
