Payment expired??

I recently made a pre-order for a product that will not be released until November. I paid this pre-order with my Paypal account. I have recently noticed in my activity that that payment has a status of Expired. The company, Microsoft, have said the payment will not be deducted from account until a final release date is announced. If that payment through PayPal has expired is Microsoft going to be able to receive their payment?

Expired - Payment was not accepted by a Merchant within a specific amount of time.

Meaning they won't get their money.

I wonder why Microsoft would have Paypal as an option for pre-orders. That's odd.
