Need to dispute a transaction but it's not showing up in my payment history

 Hi I bought something off ebay which hasn't arrived nearly 3 weeks after estimated delivery. The seller is being awkward, refusing to refund me until they "claim compensation from the courier"

So far we've communicated over eBays messaging service and I haven't officially made a complaint but the way this is going it's starting to look a bit fishy to me. I'd like to at least have it noted that this transaction is in dispute before too much time has passed.

However, when I look for the transaction in my PayPal history it's not there. The money has gone from my account and it definitely went via PayPal. Please help, I'm £100 down at the moment and really can't afford to be!

@MastoDan

Have you not thought of opening an ebay dispute??

If you want to do it on paypal then it sounds as if you paid the seller as a guest buyer via a card to their paypal account, if so then confirm and i can tell you how to open a paypal dispute.

When I click on dispute on eBay it says I paid as a PayPal guest, which is odd because I always log in to PayPal and pay using my account rather than my card. But, I suppose that would explain why it's not in my account history. How would I go about disputing that?

No its ok you don't need to tag but we are all volunteers so can't always reply instantly...........also i am not in the US so its quite late at night here and was going to go to bed but first >>>>>

You can still open a dispute as a guest paypal buyer BUT you have to contact customer services direct and they will open a claim for you (bypassing the dispute) immediately. >>>

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".
