Need help with a sales transaction

I am getting the following error when voiding a sales transaction via the Payflow Pro API in the sandbox (pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com.

RESULT=108

RESPMSG=Void error: Void against invalid transaction types

The payflow pro user guide states that you may void a sales transaction

So why am I getting this message?
