Did they get the payment I sent?

Hi

I have searched many previous posts and though I am sure it must have come up in the past - my apologies if this is a duplicate question.

I would like to know why I don't get a notification of payment received? It seems that there is only a notification for a subscription but thats all.  Why is that?

How do I know that that the person/company I sent the money to actually got it?  Yes - I have also sent an email asking them. But it seems all rather dodgy not being able to verify they did or didn't receive it.

One of the major issues I have with now even using PayPal....

Thank so much.

Unfortunately PayPal does not have a feature whereas you get an email notification of someone accepting or receiving a payment.  All you will see is the status of the transaction in your History which will show "Completed".

(It would be a nice enhancement.)

Thanks so much for your reply.  To me it seems like a no brainer to send a real confirmation notice, not just 'completed' like what does that really mean?  just the data I entered was completed is how I interprete it.

There seriously needs to be one that shows that a real person acknowledged the receiving of it.

Wouldn't it calm down issues of possible fraud incurring? IE people claiming they never got it?

Frankly I don't see how people even would use Paypal on a regular basis without having this sort of back up as proof of payment sent and received by both parties.

This is the reason I primarily use e-interac for payments in Canada thru my bank - an institution that does let me know payment was received.  I only used paypal because it was money being sent to someone in the USA and that was the only option via credit card.
