Chargeback Help

Hello,

I sold a commercial griddle to a buyer out of state. he paid $3200 and he had it shipped. 3 months later chargeback. I contacted him to ask what the issue was. he claims he had to do a repair. Even though it was sold with no warranty and he was using it for some time, I told him I was resonable and to please let me see the repair bill. He never sent it and did not communicate with me anymore. I let pay pal try to resolve it but I was just notified his CC company ruled in his favor. Pay Pal says they will continue the fight. This guy never returned it and has no intentions. What can I expect from pay pals dispute with the card holders company? What power does pay pal use to reverse this fraud? This was a complete robbery..

Unfortunately as this is member to member help group, we can't speak for what or how PayPal will handle an issue such as this.  PayPal's policy allows a 45 day window form the date of purchase for buyers to open a dispute.  After that, if the buyer paid with a credit card, the card issuer can get involved.  Then it's between the card issuer and PayPal which in many cases, the card issuer is favored.  All we can suggest at this point is wait and see what happens.

Thanks.. Ok member to member, what should I be doing? just sitting and waiting is very stressful. I dont know what the benifit of pay pal is. any bank can process a payment for 1/4 of the fees I pay to pay pal. I use pay pal for protection, and Now I'm finding out I'm not protected. Anybody can recieve an item then chargeback via their CC company. and I loss? They dont even have to return it? I understand that if the claim was made through pay pal I would have more protection, but will pay pal be able to reverse this?

Sadly you don't have a choice other than wait for a decision.
